Optical Express has recently invested more than £250,000 refitting of one of its flagship stores in the UK.
The Cardiff location offers eye tests, contact lens fittings, free laser eye surgery and intraocular lens treatment consultations, as well as laser eye surgery on-site. The refit includes the outfitting of new testing and pre-screening rooms designed to make the consultation process more comfortable for patients.
Optical Express opened in Cardiff in October 2002, following the Group’s acquisition of the Health Clinic, and over 1,000 treatments were performed there in 2009 alone.
Located on the high street in the centre of Cardiff, the three-storey clinic is now better equipped to attract shoppers off the street with its brighter look and more accommodating layout, highlighting the wide range of designer frames available. These frames include the Paul Cox collection, which is new to Optical Express, as well as Dior, Prada and Gucci.
As part of a recent $12M investment in technology by Optical Express, the clinic has also recently been outfitted with a new, state of the art iFS™ 150 femtosecond laser, which brings LASIK flap creation to an even higher standard of speed and control. The iFS™ 150 laser was installed in each one of Optical Express’ clinics across Europe in the first four months of 2010, and Optical Express is the only multiple provider to offer this technology in all of its clinics.
David Lewis, Optical Express Manager at Cardiff, is pleased with the changes and said, “This substantial investment is good news for patients and customers here in the Welsh capital. In fact, we are offering a service unrivalled in the world with our superior technology and second-to-none customer care.
Thanks to the refit, we can now offer these services in an even more welcoming and polished environment. This enables our staff to better perform their duties, as well as provide a better experience for all of our patients and customers, whether they are browsing for new frames or looking to have laser eye surgery”.
The Cardiff clinic is also equipped with the most cutting-edge diagnostic equipment available today, including a Pentacam HR, which accurately measures the anterior segment of the eye. A number of specialist refractive trained optometrists are on hand to perform pre and post-operative assessments of patients using this and other technology.
The refit is part of a multi-million pound programme dedicated to ensuring that Optical Express stays ahead of the competition on all fronts, which has also included recent refits in Glasgow, Crawley, Gloucester, and Harrow.
