Optical Express is delighted to announce the opening of a state-of-the-art eye clinic in the heart of Carlisle, marking the 8th opening for the optical chain since January 2013.
The decision to open in the area came after a review of the number of enquiries Optical Express received in 2013 regarding laser eye surgery which identified a gap in the market. Carlisle is a brand new venture for the Group who are currently thriving north and south of the border. The nearest clinic in Newcastle has been trading for over 10 years and the Group hopes to replicate this success in their new location.
With a population of over 100,000, Carlisle is largest city in Cumbria and a great location for Optical Express to open its doors plus, as the UK’s only provider of every optical solution, they have something to suit everyone’s needs.
The new clinic is located in Broadacre House on historic Lowther Street which is easily accessible by car and public transport. The Clinic Manager, Ross Thomson and his team of staff which includes experienced refractive optometrist Claire Hughes, will be on hand to offer a full range of eye care services from glasses and contact lenses to surgical solutions including laser vision correction and natural lens replacement.
David Moulsdale, Optical Express Chairman and CEO commented:
“We have identified a significant demand for laser eye surgery in certain regions throughout the UK, Carlisle being one of them. We have been keen to open in this area for some time and I am delighted to see our plans come to fruition. I look forward to welcoming the people of Carlisle through our doors and I am confident they will be delighted with the Optical Express experience.”
